The Election and the Economy
Video Analysis on Elections Intersection with markets, the economy, and social class
The 2024 US presidential election is coming in two weeks, and investors are wondering how each candidate’s victory will impact markets and the economy. In this update, I share with you the three videos I have released that are the most relevant to the upcoming election. In the first video, I explain what are the levers of power and the constraints any incoming president faces in regards to the economy.
The second video is about historical stock market performance by political party, and the flaws of analyzing markets through a partisan lens.
The final video is about how which sets of fiscal policies benefit each social class. Since this election has neither candidate campaigning as a true fiscal conservative, it is not as relevant for voting patterns for 2024, but it will be likely relevant again as inflation and deficits continue to grow as a structural economic issue.
